DJ Choice

In the 1990s, Alain Benabdallah, known as Dj Choice, was an active DJ, music producer, and member of hip-hop groups Zero Tolerance and Dubmatique. He is a pioneer of the hip-hop scene in Quebec, Canada. With Zero Tolerance they released "The Dark Side Of The Groove" in 1992. Later on, he joined Dubmatique and together they released "La force de comprendre" in 1997. It sold 150 000 copies and went platinum in Quebec alone. At the local event to recognize achievements in the music industry called "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they were the first to win trophies. While in the group, they won "Group of the Year", "Best Rock Alternative Album" (their first year at "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they didn't have a hip-hop section), and "Best Hip-hop Album". In 1999, they released the self-titled album "Dubmatique", which went gold. Shortly thereafter, he retired from public life and rarely produced music from thereon. On Dubmatique's 2008 album "Trait d'union", he solely produced "Patience".
