Настоящее имя: Stockholms Ensemblen
Об исполнителе:
Swedish chamber orchestra from Stockholm, founded in 1970 by conductor Mats Liljefors. The English alias, Royal Swedish Chamber Orchestra, is not to be confused with Svenska Kammarorkestern Presumably dormant or disbanded. The last concerts seems to have been held during the autumn 2014, after which the official webpage went offline. Stockholms Ensemblen was formed in connection with Musik på Slottet's first season. It consists of freelance chamber musicians, concertmasters, conductors and members of the Stockholm Symphony Orchestra. The repertoire has consisted of the classical for chamber orchestra, but also opera and contemporary music, including premieres. Tours The Stockholm Ensemble has performed under its international name Royal Swedish Chamber Orchestra in the USA (Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Chicago Orchestra Hall, etc.), Germany (Berliner Philharmonie, Herkules-saal in Munich, Musikhalle in Hamburg, etc.), Austria (Musikverein in Vienna), France, Switzerland, Portugal, Morocco, Japan, China, etc. The Royal Swedish Chamber Orchestra has also toured in South America and Asia and as the only Swedish chamber orchestra was invited to the Toyota Classics in 1997, an annually recurring and prestigious tour, where a selected orchestra gives concerts in nine capital cities in Southeast Asia. Special appearances Expanded into a symphony orchestra, the Stockholm Ensemble has played on special occasions, e.g. at the Memorial Concert for Jussi Björling in 1985 in the Concert House with, among others, Giuseppe di Stefano, Robert Merrill, James McCracken, Nicolai Gedda, Gösta Winbergh, Birgit Nilsson, Elisabeth Söderström, Doris Soffel and others. The concert was recorded on TV and has been released on CD. Another occasion was a memorable Sylvester Gala in a sold-out Globen in 1989 with Luciano Pavarotti. During the 2000s, the Stockholm Ensemble has toured in Switzerland, France and Germany. Every year during its existence, the orchestra appeared in Musik på Slottet. Recordings The discography includes around twenty discs and CDs recorded in Sweden, Holland, Japan and Russia.
