Taro Nijikama is a Japanese musician, writer, and critc. Known as one of the early promoters of the term "Onkyo", he owned the short-lived record shop Paris-Peking based in Shibuya in the early 1990s, introducing experimental music to audiences and making eccentric mixtapes, which were mainly categorized as Sound Collage later by listeners. After the record shop ceased operation, he created several labels, including Shi-Ra-Nui, 360°Records, Viola, Clay, Drifter, Radio, etc. From the late 1990s to 2000s, he released a massive amount of music under different project names, mainly in the form of CDr, while remaining largely anonymous.
