Guillaume Guéroult (* 1507 in Rouen; † 7 October 1569 in Lyon) was a French writer and emblematist. Guéroult was (as a studied proofreader, poet and translator from Latin) an employee of printers in Rouen, Geneva and Lyon, as well as Vienne. He converted to Calvinism early on, fled to Geneva around 1547, but got into trouble there too. As brother-in-law of the printer Balthazar Arnoullet (1517-1556), he was involved in the printing of Michel Servet's Christianismi Restitutio, which Calvin had burned at the stake because of this text, as well as his book. Guéroult is best known for his emblem book (source for the fable Les Animaux malades de la peste by Jean de La Fontaine) and his church music texts.
