Since his first EP Averni was released in 2010, Brazilian Witchcraft practitioner, David Hex (Michael Cavalcante aka Michael Nefer), has defied categorization. Weaving elements of various musical genres, witchcraft rituals, and esoterica, his music reflects his own spirituality. Born in Brazil, DATHURA SUAVOLENS songs are lucid dreams manifested with the aid of multiple sources, from Brazil's modern occult scene going as far as ancient Arab Magick. This project's name came from the well-known herb Devil's Trumpet, a plant widely used by witches to meet their lord at the sabbat and famous for its intoxicating powers. David's biggest inspiration is to manifest what he experiences in his journey in the Arte Magica, to translate mystical visions into audible witchcraft, which are called by him Emblematas, symbols that go beyond image to sound and other realms of manifestation.
