US American blues singer, guitarist (6-string and 12-string) and pianist from Portland, OR. Mike Russo is the oldest son of painters Michele Russo (1909-2004) and Sally Haley (1908-2007). Born in 1937 in Connecticut, he moved with his parents to Oregon in 1947. He played together with Fred McDowell and others in 1969 as Fred McDowell And His Blues Boys and released one solo album on Arhoolie Records. Apparently, he worked mostly as a sign painter. b.: Sept. 1937 in Connecticut, United States d.: ??? (possibly still alive)
