Об исполнителе:
(Born: 12 Jan 1927 • Horatio, Sevier, Arkansas; Died: 19 May 2020 • Durango, La Plata, Colorado) -- Rhythm Guitar, Lead and Backup Vocals, Comedian. Western Music Hall of Fame inductee, 21 Nov 2009. As a child in Arkansas, Cy loved Western movies and dreamed of becoming a singing cowboy. After a stint in the Army, he found himself in Colorado Springs just as Russ Wolfe was making his own dream come true there, forming The Flying W Wranglers western band to entertain at his ranch. Cy joined The Flying W Wranglers in 1953 and departed on 01 Nov 1968. He left with two other Flying W Wranglers, Roy "Buck" Teeter and Jim Blanton, Sr., who together had purchased 50 acres at Durango, Colorado. There, on 02 Jun 1962 they opened their own business, the Bar D Chuckwagon, emulating the formula they'd learned from their former boss. And, as everyone knows, there's no use in having a chuckwagon without cowboys, and so the Bar D Wranglers were formed. His original partners passed away and the members of the Bar D Wranglers have changed over time, but Cy continued performing on stage daily until the age of 82, after which he slowed down to the occasional appearance, sometimes with his good friend and neighbor, County music legend Charlie Daniels joining in. Deeply involved in his community, Cy was a kind and caring man who had the great good fortune to have been a singing cowboy for nearly 80 years, and to have entertained millions of folks along the way. Cy also traveled out west to Tucson where his friend and former Flying W Wrangler alumnus Chuck Cook founded the Triple C Chuckwagon in 1969, and stayed there long enough to record at least on LP release with that outfit.
