Bassist, singer, saxophonist, synthesist, songwriter, audio engineer, concert promoter, director, producer and graphic artist in Los Angeles (born 3 November 1971 in Erie, Pennsylvania). Carnage became a prominent Los Angeles concert producer & promoter soon after his arrival in 2002 from Cleveland, Ohio. He produced more than 470 consecutive all-ages events ("Sean Carnage Monday Nights") featuring upwards of 1200 artists over a ten year span at local D.I.Y. venues like The Smell, Pehrspace and Il Corral, launching and popularizing artists such as HEALTH (2), Kyle H. Mabson, Chelsea Wolfe, Captain Ahab, I.E., Abe Vigoda, Foot Village, NASA Space Universe, Juiceboxxx, The Mae Shi, Dan Deacon, Future Islands, Corima (2), Clipping. and hundreds more. His “Carnage Video” documentaries profiling music subculture figures have been viewed over 2 million times on YouTube and other platforms like Carnage's independent music news site, seancarnage.com. Carnage's most recent and infamous band, the hard rocking Sons Of The Bitch in which he played bass guitar, was a popular L.A. club attraction in the 2010s. Carnage is also well known for singing and playing synth in the "gay Hawkwind" cover bands—Cockwind, and also Cocklords—which have featured diverse players like Bret Berg, Fred Kiko, Barrett Avner, Brendon Morrison, Narin Dickerson, and Corey Gingerich, among others and explore his fascination with the music and lyrics of Robert Calvert and Hawklords. Carnage's aesthetic—evidenced in his film 40 Bands 80 Minutes, music events like L.A. Lottery League, and his underground events—is one of radical inclusion, genre-defying musical expression that dissolves the distinctions between artist and audience, and Systems Music-derived large scale musical art projects involving hundreds, even thousands, of participants.
