René Berthier (2)

French priest, born in Paray-le-Monial (1927) and deceased in Dijon (2012). René Berthier studied at the Autun seminary and in Rome where he obtained his theology degree. Ordained priest in 1951, he was first vicar at the cathedral of Autun, and chaplain of the high school of the same city. He moved to Paris and became deputy director of the National Center for Religious Education ("Centre national De L'Enseignement Religieux"). He stayed more than 30 years in Paris, bustling to convey the religious message in the contemporary world, in a language adapted to our time, and with the audio-visual means of today. He had a chronicle on several national radios for more than 25 years. He was at the origin of many magazines for children and adults: Pomme d'Api, Fiches Dimanche, Notre Temps, Vermeil, Aujourd’hui la Bible, etc. He is also the author of many catechetical and liturgical books.
