Nick Volpe

American artist, noted for painting portraits of celebrities. Born 1911, New Haven, Connecticut; died February 11, 1992, in Oceanside, California, at age 80. Won a Grammy Award for Best Album Cover in 1958 for the cover art of Frank Sinatra Sings For Only The Lonely. Commissioned by the Beatles in 1964 to paint portraits during their first American tour. Commissioned to paint a portrait of Johnny Cash for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1981.
