Joe Brazil

American jazz saxophonist and educator. Born August 25, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan Died August 6, 2008 in Seattle, Washington. He was a Jazz historian. Professor Brazil taught the history of jazz at U of Washington. He founded the Brazil Academy of Music (BAM), mentoring many students. He was a visiting lecturer at colleges, schools and prisons, emphasizing the importance of music and history.
