Zebo

Zebo started his DJ journey in 1998 when he moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College and study music business. Introduced to electronic music through the underground Rave scene of the late 90s in the Midwest he was passionate to learn the art of playing future forward electronic music on a medium such as vinyl. He started working for a production company called Direct Drive where he made flyer drops and helped at the rave events, eventually being put on Rave parties to play opening slots with his first on May 20th of 2000 at a party called Fuse 2 where he opened for Mixmaster Mike. Starting with Jungle and moving into House, Hip Hop, Reggae, Soul, Funk Disco and now into Latin, Afrobeat, Juke, Future Beats, Footwork, Trap style, and even rock, Z has fully embraced the "Open Format DJ" style with a passion for sharing good music in all styles. In 2008 he was listed in URB Magazine's "Next 100" issue and also in New City's "Top 45 Musical Artists" in Chicago and winner of the first "Chicago Nightlife Awards" in the "Best DJ" category in 2014. Started the Hot Dog Records Label with partner Marco Morales and the Irie Way record label with partner Scottfro. Since 2010 he has been an adjunct professor at Columbia College in Chicago teaching Club DJ and Music Production courses and taught at the Chicago branch of the DJ School, Scratch Academy started by Jam Master Jay. Performing at festivals Lollapalooza, Spring Awakening, North Coast Music fest and holding residencies at various Chicago Clubs such as The Mid, Sound-Bar, Spy Bar, evilOlive, and many others he continues to let his passion be his vocation always striving to learn new DJ technology and use that to teach the next generation of DJs.
