Ken Smikle

American publisher, entrepreneur (born Jan. 3, 1952, Harlem, NY), jazz trombone player and organizer of musical events, then took lessons for radio and TV and edited the Black Eyed Journal. In 1974, worked for the magazine Spirit, in 1975 for arts magazine called Easy (until 1978). Then went as art editor to the Amsterdam News in Harlem (1978-80). In 1983 he wrote for Essence magazine and for National Leader. In 1984 he joined the Black Enterprise. Afterthose moved to Chicago founded Target Market News.
