Tony Wells

US producer, mixer, songwriter and soul singer. Mr. Wells, a graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, began his career as a member of The Fisk Jubilee Singers, and began working on recordings tracked at the University's sound studios, where he came to the attention of label owner Cliff Williamson. He signed to Tree Publishing Co., Inc. as a songwriter, and recorded for Williamson's Decade Records (5) label before joining RCA Records in 1979. From 1981 to 1987 he was A&R Talent Manager for Black Music at RCA, New York. Artists such as Johnny Gill, Denroy Morgan and Richard 'Dimples' Fields have recorded his compositions.
