Stanley Alfred Stephens (January 8, 1955 - June 18, 1991) was a notable jazz drummer hailing from New Orleans. He commenced his musical journey at age 5 and received formal training at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Stanley made significant contributions to the local jazz scene, performing at Preservation Hall, and collaborating with bands like Dejan's Olympia and the Young Tuxedo Brass Bands. He was also part of Louis Nelson's New Orleans Jazz All Stars and toured internationally, showcasing his talent in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Japan, Malaysia, and Germany. Stanley's drumming graced recordings by Dr. Michael White and many others, leaving an enduring mark on New Orleans jazz. He died too early at age 36.
