The May Day Orchestra

The May Day Orchestra formed in 2008 to play a show on May Day (May 1). The resulting collaboration of songwriter Tim Rakel and other Saint Louis musicians led to the creation of the group's debut album "May Day, or Songs For Lucy Parsons" which was released in 2009. The group was signed to Pat Todd's label Rankoutsider Records in 2010 and released a second album "Ota Benga" with a different sound and slightly different line-up. The current group is at work on a third full-length as of Spring 2016 and has released two new songs on a 7".
