Peter Beyls

Peter Beyls, born at Kortrijk, on the 2nd of June 1950. Studies in electronic engineering at VHTIK, sound engeneering at the Royal Music Conservatory, Brussels and computer science at the Ghent State University. Was technical cooperator of the Institute for Psychoacoustics and Electronic Music, Ghent, and teacher of electronic music at the Academy of Fine Arts, The Haghue. Lecturer on the application of advanced technology, especially the computer, in the visual arts. Active in the field of electronic music as a composer/researcher and performer of live electronic music. His production includes tape music, music for films and expanded media works. Peter Beyls' music was performed on festivals and concerts in Europe and the USA. He also concentrates on the design of interactive computer programs for the composition of sonic and visual structures.
