Vadym Ilyin is a Ukrainian-born musician and composer who was especially active during the Soviet era. Born 5 January 1942 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Besides composing the music to a number of popular Ukrainian songs, he is the author of various ballet, musicals, symphonies, theatrical shows, television shows and films. In 1989 he was awarded the title "Merited Artist of Ukraine". In 1991 he emigrated to Israel. From 2007 he lives in Moscow, Russia.
