Swedish composer and percussionist, born December 26, 1967. He has studied composition for Phillipe Capdenat and Yoshihisa Taïra in Paris, theory and computer music for Peter Swinnen at the Conservatory of Music in Brussels and composition for Carl-Axel Hall at the Gothenburg Academy of Music. He then studied film music at the University of Gothenburg and film script at the Gothenburg Film Academy, now the Valand Academy. After studying for Georges Aperghis, he began to engage in more theatrical music in the spirit of Mauricio Kagel. In 2003, Hosseini founded the Gothenburg Music & Dance Company (GMDC), which in 2007 was transformed into the Ensemble Themus in Gothenburg with the intention of spreading the concept of theatrical music. His work in theatrical music is inspired by modern dance, theater and martial arts. As a percussionist, Hosseini is fascinated by improvisation. Sometimes he uses the improvisation system in his compositions in such a way that the musician is allowed to improvise during certain parts, a controlled and noted improvisation. He also lectures on topics such as music notation, composition, communication between musicians / composers and between musicians / music notation.
