French producer, musician and writer from Plessala, born September 26th 1958 in Loudéac, at some point he was a militant of the Breton Party, asking for the independence for this region, he was still active on the political scene during the last mayor elections of 2014 in Rennes. In 1977, he co-founded Marquis De Sade with Philippe Pascal. Octobre (2) will then be created on the ashes of MDS, and as early as 1982 will release their first LP, Next Year In Asia. On a side project, Darcel works with Etienne Daho from 1981 to 1984. From Mythomane to La Notte, La Notte.... In 1986, he creates the band Senso (3) together with his friend Patrick Vidal (former Marie Et Les Garçons), whom he worked with already on Octobre's 2nd LP released in 1983. A new album called Le Long Du Fleuve was to be released by the band in 1989, but Darcel didn't like the line of direction, thus Pascal Obispo, then bassist of the band, made it a personal project, and it was released under his sole name in 1990. In 1995, Darcel will release Atao, his unique solo project to date. He'll then emigrate to Lisbon for not less than 3 years, where he'll produce several albums for Paulo Gonzo and various Portuguese artists. 2005 will be the year of release of his first novel "Le Dériveur" (Flammarion), followed by "L'Ennemi de la Chance" (Flammarion, 2007). He is also the instigator of the important book ROK#1: 50 Ans de Musique Electrifiée en Bretagne (Les Editions de Juillet, 2010), released with Rok #1 (1964/1989: Rock En Bretagne), a compilation of songs released from 1964 to 1989. A 2nd volume will be released in 2013 called ROK#2, 50 ans de musique électrifiée en Bretagne, tome 2 - 1990/2013 (LADTK, 2013), released with its own compilation: Rok #2 Du (La Compile Indie Pop Punk).
