Darko Dervišević, professional tamburitza player, composer and music producer, was born in 1965 in Zagreb. He spent his childhood and then his whole life in Markuševac, the largest tamburitza gathering in central Croatia, so it's no wonder that tamburitza music became his life. He has been playing tamburitza music professionally since 1985 as a member of the tamburitza ensemble Ex Panonia. During his working life, he has collaborated with all the most famous names of the Croatian tamburitza scene. Most often as a performer, sometimes as an author, music producer, arranger or all of these together. As a member of the accompanying orchestra, he collaborated with Krunoslav Kićo Slabinac, Vice Vukov, Zvonko Bogdan, Miroslav Škoro ... and on original albums with Ex Panonia, Vera Svoboda, Tanja Mršić, Šarmeri, Begini, Tamburgeri... He has recorded 35 albums and has more than 130 registered songs. As an author or performer, he often appears at all tamburitza festivals in Croatia. At the same time, he is the president of the Zagrebački Tamburaši association and the head of the orchestra, with which he often performs. He toured Canada and America ten times with various soloists. Today, he works as a music editor at Croatia Records and takes care of tamburitza and folk music releases. In addition to all that, Darko Dervišević graduated in communication management with the subject "Tamburitza music and klapa singing". In November 2021, in Pula, he was awarded the Status (Croatian Music Union) professional award for superior playing skills. In 2023, he received the Status award again, this time in Šibenik in the tamburitza category, as well as the biggest Croatian music award, Porin, as the producer of the album "Zagrabi Mando, zagrabi" by the Zagrebački Tamburaši.
