Man In The Box

"Man in the box" is the name used by the Parliament / Funkadelic bands to credit, not an artist, but the Maestro rhythm king MRK-2 drum machine, called also "the funk box" by Sly Stone and Larry Graham. This credit appears the first time in 1974 (Parliament "Up for the down stroke"). It is possible that Clip Payne used this name as alias for crediting him on P-Funk records many years later but it's not clear when and where.
