Charles Green (5)

US trumpet player. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Charles Green started his musical career at the Music High school. During his service in the army, he joined the US-Airforce Band to play the trumpet, after which he moved to Madrid, Spain to study at the conservatory with a mains in trumpet. Moving to The Netherlands in 1970 to continue his studies at the conservatory in Maastricht, he became lead-techer at the Sweelinck conservatory in Asmterdam. Teaching trumpet and ensembles, he started leading the conservatory’s big band. Besides teaching and performing Charles is also composing and arranging. Joining as a conductor and artistic director in 1990, Charles has brought the Studentproof bigband from a starting bigband to one performing at semi-professional levels.
