He is credited with coining the term "Tin Pan Alley". He often wrote under the pseudonyms E. Heiser and F. Belasco. He charted four times as a songwriter between 1900 and 1917 on the U.S. charts, all in the top 10 and all using his real name. "Nothing's Too Good for the Irish" by Dan Quinn hit #4 in 1900 (co-written by J. Joseph Goodwin). Probably his best known and most popular creation was "With All Her Faults, I Love Her Still" by Will Oakland which hit #6 in 1913.
