Pop Tops

Originally formed in the 60’s as a soul and R&B horn band, The Top Pops headlined up and down the USA atlantic seaboard at some of the most popular venues of the time. They were the designated house band legendary establishments such as The Peppermint Beach Club, The Top Hat, The Dome, Peabody’s, The Upper Deck, and The Casino in Nags Head. The band signed with the Atlantic Records subsidiary Cotillion in 1969. The Pop Tops recorded on four labels. Because of corporate pressure, their singles wre often recorded and released under different names.
