Uut Hulsing

Dutch female singer, period 1945 - 1969. Formed duo with her husband Ber Hulsing who was the composer of all her songs. Those were political left wing songs: about disappeared people in world war II, the resistence period against the Nazi Germans who occupied Holland; songs about the working class people. Those were political protest songs. In the cold war in the fifties and sixties these artists were banned from the radio and venues due to communist sympathy just like 'McCarthyism' in the USA.
