Jaime Oliveira

Portuguese pianist, arranger, and conductor, born in Lisbon (1950); brother of jazz trumpet player Raul D'Oliveira. Worked as a conductor in casinos and hotels across Portugal. Conducted Portugal's entry in the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest ('Neste barco à vela' by Nevada (10)); in later years, 1988 and 1992, he also led the orchestra for his country's performances in the OTI Festival. In 1986, he founded his own big band, the Orquestra da Felicidade do Brilho e da Glória.
