Fictional character created by Mark E. Smith. Described in a May 1980 press release as "the mental manifestation of The Fall camp...a self proclaimed Professor of speed speech". Roman is the father of Joe Totale (mentioned in the song 'The N.W.R.A' as "the yet unborn son", from the LP 'Grotesque (After The Gramme)').
