Nadia Dore

British dance band vocalist, born 4 May 1920 in Hampstead, London. Her first marriage was to Aaron Slavin in Holborn, London, in 1940. She sang with major dance bands in the war and post-war era. Following the start of a residency at London's Washington Hotel in 1951, she married the owner, Leonard de Pinna, in March 1952. She had a son, Michael, born in July 1953, and then faded from the world of dance bands, although made some broadcasts. She died in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 22 February 1981, aged 60. She is buried in the Jewish Chevra Kadisha Cemetery, Johannesburg.
