In 1968 as an EMI A&R employee, it was suggested by Kingsley Ward and Malcolm Jones that Love Sculpture become a blues based rock band. Sessions began at EMI Abbey Road in July 1968 with Malcolm Jones and Kingsley Ward acting as producers. Also established the newly formed underground and progressive Harvest label at EMI. Partial work history: - economics graduate from Manchester University - joins EMI in 1967 as a trainee manager - 1968 EMI A&R employee - helps establish the Harvest label - around 1970 left EMI for Fly Records (3) - Jan 1971 helped set up Fly Records (3) label - Sept 1972 departed for Polydor, previously label manager for Cube Records (Cube was a sublabel for Fly Records (3)) - Oct 1972 becomes Polydor pop product manager - Jan 1979 becomes international A&R Manager at CBS Records U.K. moving over from creative director of Rondor Music, and previously U.S. repertoire manager for Epic and associated labels
