Heinrich Mannfred

Composer of the Jolly Coppersmith which was a popular turn-of-the-twentieth century march that was recorded by many record labels. First published in 1886 in New York, it was credited to V. Peter (a pseudonym for Heinrich Mannfred). On later sheet music it was credited to C. Peters and on some recordings to simply "Peters" or "Peter". Its genre has been classified as "Descriptive" or a "March," and it's memorable for its clanging or striking of an anvil during the chorus, sometimes sung, sometimes not.
