American songwriter, pianist, producer, teacher and arranger. Born May 11, 1927, in Eugene, Missouri Died 2002 (age of 75). Swaim received a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Oregon in 1966 and a master's degree in music in 1971. Swaim taught piano in the area for 22 years. She served as president of a music teacher's association for a number of years. In 1966, Swaim moved to Springfield, Missouri, to serve as a professor of music at Central Bible College. She retired in 1994. Swaim composed, produced and arranged hundreds of songs and recordings in the Christian music industry. She was in charge of A&R at American Artists, Inc. and produced many of their albums. In 1997, she was inducted into the Assemblies of God Music Hall of Honor for her accomplishments as an educator and music arranger. She received many other music and education awards.
