In the 1960s five musicians united to form the Pennines, the group was formed by Ken Campbell & Lynton & Ann McConnel who were joined by Margaret & Frank & then Pete Bowler & Chris Swan. Their first record was 'Both Sides of the Pennines' recorded at Manchester's Sports Guild. A contemporary, folk-orientated acoustic harmony group whose music successfully captured the sights and sounds of their urban environment.
