John Rowlands (2)

Canadian musician and music photographer from Oshawa, Ontario born ca. 1947. Started photographing the local Ottawa music scene as a young teen. Moved to Toronto in 1962 and in 1964, at the age of 17, was asked by Capitol Records Of Canada, Ltd. to submit proofs of photos he took at a concert. Capitol liked them and enlisted him as a photographer, sending him on the road with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. After this he left his R&B band and focused exclusively on photography, much of it for Capitol. In 1990 he lost 50,000 negatives in a civil lawsuit, which were auctioned off in 1994.
