Swedish trombonist, born on June 13, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and died on April 18, 2014 in Västra Mark, Västergötland. Johansson appeared on a few released recordings, such as Kettil Ohlsons Orkester in 1954 and Lars Gullin Sextet in 1955, during the 1950s. He had earlier, in 1953-54, played with Ivan Berg (2)'s group, on tour, and with Bo Callström's small group. After that, he played with Arvid Sjölin's orchestra and also with different and other constellations on shorter tours, these groups were often set together from occasional jamming musicians at Nalen. On January 10, 1956, he married the Swedish jazz vocalist Ann-Marie Blom. They also registered Brodén, the surname of his mother at her birth, as their new surname as a married couple. In 1957, the family settled down in Göteborg where he played with Malte Johnsons Orkester at Liseberg. With Johnson, he also did appearances on Swedish television and radio, and a few recordings. In 1963, the Brodén family moved to Delary in Älmhult county, Småland. At that time, he had left the life as musician. In 1975, the couple had gone separate ways and was divorced. Richard Johansson (3)'s parents are Arvid Valdemar Johansson (Born in Sweden, in 1904) and Abela Linnéa Valborg Johansson (Born in Sweden, in 1905, as Brodén).
