Cornel Wilde

Hungarian-American actor. film director, producer and songwriter. Born October 13, 1912 Died October 16, 1989. He was married to actress/singer Jean Wallace. He wrote the song "Beach Red" for his wife for the movie of same title under the pseudonym Elbey Vid. The man of many talents produced the movie, directed it, starred in it, and wrote the theme song. He wrote a fencing play, "Touché", under the pseudonym of Clark Wales in 1937, He also used Jefferson Pascal as a pseudonym, cheekily crediting himself (using the name) "I humbly extend my warmest thanks to Jefferson Pascal, who wrote the lyrics, ..." -- liner notes from Maracaibo (The Music As Played In The Motion Picture).
