American jazz trumpeter, band leader, and band manager, born January 23, 1949 in Reading, Pennsylviana, residing in Pennsylvania. Stahl has played lead trumpet for Woody Herman (1973-1975), Count Basie (1975, 1980), Buddy Rich, Larry Elgart and Toshiko Akiyoshi, among others. In April 1977 he formed his own band, the Dave Stahl Band. Founder and owner of Abee Cake Records since 1987.
