Paul Booker

In a city overflowing with musicians, Paul Booker was one of Nashville, TN's most distinctive. A constant presence in the local music scene for more than three decades, he led or played in a succession of bands that all bore his uniquely languorous style: Wax Dolls (1982-84), Beyond John (1984-86), The Last Surviving Dolphins (1986-88), Medicinal Porpoises (1986-96), CYOD (1996-?), Dave Cloud And The Gospel Of Power (1998-2015) and, Paul Booker and the Dynamite Operators (2001-2016). Booker's death from lung cancer on June 27, 2016 at age 49, after a brief but devastating illness, left the city with one less original voice.
