Beninese musician. Born: 3 May 1938, Porto-Novo, French Dahomey (now Benin) After his childhood in Porto-Novo he moved to Dakar, French Senegal (now Senegal) in 1945. In 1952 he started his first (school) band called La Jazz De Dakar, in which he played harmonica. In early 1953 he moved back to French Dahomey (now Benin) where he founded the band La Jazz Hot. In the end of 1953 he moved to Niamey, French Niger (now Niger) where he played in a band called Los Cabanos and soon joined L'Harmonie Voltaique, the national orchestra of Upper Volta (now Burkino Faso). In 1960 he moved to Cotonou, Dahomey (now Benin). In 1962 he started the band Daho Jazz which he left shortly after as they couldn't tour. He joined Gnonnas Pedro's Los Panchos. In 1963 he formed again another band called The Jets (8), which became Los Paras, in 1964, then Los Commandos in 1965, and finally El Rego Et Ses Commandos in 1966.
