Swedish opera singer (soprano) and journalist, born March 20, 1926 in Gothenburg. She was first a primary school teacher and later a singer at the Norwegian Opera and the Gothenburg Opera. She was then a producer of music programs at Sveriges Radio's music editorial office. The roles include Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Tosca and Octavia in Poppea's coronation. Among other things, she has made herself known as the initiator of the opera stage Dalhalla in the former limestone quarry Draggängarna north of Rättvik, inaugurated in 1994. She initiated the project in 1991, after recently retiring, and was artistic director of the business from 1993 to the early 2000s. After disagreements between those involved about the direction and operation of the business, she was fired in 2003. In Dalhalla there is a portrait bust in bronze by Margareta Dellefors. A gift from Dalhalla friends in 2006. Sculptor Carl-Gustaf Ekberg. In 2015, the gramophone company STERLING released a CD, called LIMELIGHT and LIMESTONE - A Singing Journey, with recordings from Margareta Dellefors' career between the years 1963-1972.
