Luciano Vicari

Italian violinist, born 1932, died 2000 Frascati, Rome Italy. He studied in Remy Prìncipe's violin class at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome. In 1951 he became a founding member of the Roman chamber orchestra I Musici. In 1955 he won third prize at the Second International Paganini Competition in Genoa. The first and second prizes were not awarded in this competition. Vicari worked as an amateur violin maker and is an absolute connoisseur of this instrument. He also made some very finely crafted bows which were sold by his brother Mimmo.
