Peter Lysell

Swedish classical bassist and pop/rock bassist. He is a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2010. He has previously played with the Royal Swedish Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. After playing electric bass in various rock, pop and jazz bands, he made the switch to double bass. He studied at the Music Conservatory in Falun from 1991–1993 for Lars Ekström, followed by the Royal College of Music from 1993–1995 for Thorvald Fredin and philharmonic musician and section leader Håkan Ehrén. In addition to his position with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Peter Lysell participates in numerous contexts, including Konserthuset’s chamber music subscriptions Philharmonic Up-Close and Soup Concerts.
