DJ, Producer, Label & A&R Manager, Leigh Morgan knows all about music. His DJ sets and weekly ‘Transmissions’ show have become highly reputable thanks to his dedicated search for the right tune and his productions reach the perfect note. Professionally, he juggles from House to Drum & Bass to Pop. This rhythm specialist has had an outstanding career in the music biz through various entities and labels: tea boy at Defected, label manager at Amato, website manager for Beatport / DJ Mag, music consultant for DJ Rap’s Propa Talent label and Urban Torque Recordings’ long standing label & A&R manager. Leigh moved to London in 1997 wishing to become involved in the industry. It was not long before he met Jason Moore (at the time resident DJ for Journeys By DJ) who offered him warm up slots at nights like Phil Perry's 'Sound of The Suburbs' where Leigh became resident. Later on Jason and Leigh set up a night called Urban Torque at the notorious club Heaven, with guest djs such as Lee Burridge, Juan Atkins, Craig Richards and Danny Howells. 1999 also saw Leigh step up in to major gigs such as the Essential Xmas Party alongside Pete Tong and Felix Da Housecat. He also deejayed for Defected on their tour at Ministry of Sound. In 2000 he completed his debut production: Facedown 'Lost / Think About Me' subsequently signed to Junior Boys Own. Shortly after, Leigh became a resident at Headstart, with a monthly slot at Full Circle. The following year Jason Moore created Urban Torque Recordings. As label and A&R manager, Leigh has been committed to the label’s development both musically and as a business. Urban Torque quickly became a critically acclaimed label. Leigh’s weekly show, Transmissions, is now syndicated across the world. He has also headlined many Urban Torque parties across Europe: from Belfast (Yello) to Sonar, Budapest (Prive & White Angel), Macedonia and Bratislavia, without forgetting Las Vegas, New York (Cielo) and Dubai (Audio Tonic). His first mix compilation: Urban Torque Vol 1 became one of iTunes best Dance compilations of 2008. His productions with Scope have gathered feedback and plays from the likes of Nick Warren, Danny Howells, Hernan Cattaneo and Laurent Garnier.
