Undaground Soulution was a crew active on the 90s Chicago Hip Hop scene. The crew was born in the aftermath of a group called T.A.P a.k.a Together A Posse (Kool Proskee, The Ultimate Weapon Swann, and DJ Pumpin' Pete). T.A.P put out two singles (1989 and 199) on the Subculture Label, owned by House Music producer Mark Imperial. Not long after the release of the second single, they connected with a Waukegan-based producer named KBATE (Knowledgable Black Asiatic That's Equal), who also ran a small home studio, The Dugout. With KBATE added to the group, the four of them recorded some demos still using the T.A.P name, but after a short while, Swann left the group, and the music business in general, and around this same time, Kool Proskee changed his name to Pathfinda The Addalesson (IE "Add A Lesson", and a play on words of Adolescent), but often simply known as Path. The group briefly recorded and performed under the name 2 Brothers And A Stranger (a reference to the crew's racial make up), before eventually settling on the name Undaground Soulution. The "In Spring Training" EP is the group's only official release, but they recorded several albums worth of material, that exist on a series of 6-track and 8-track tapes. Additionally, DJ Pumpin' Pete remained a key fixture in Chicago's DJ scene as a battle DJ, Turntablist, Mixtape DJ and active on the club scene, largely known for his technical scratching. Path had a handful of guest features on local Chicago releases, namely Rubberoom's "Architechnology" album ("Style Wars" featuring Path, J.U.I.C.E, and Kenny Bogus) and Brother El's "Through The Cracks Of Concrete" album ("Don't Hold Back" featuring Path). KBATE was also vary active as a producer and engineer for many local Chicago artists, working with artists such as Stedy Serv, S.P.O, Rubberoom, Ispi, She'kspere, Thawfor, Static, He Who Walks Three Ways, Fuse, Judgmental, Powerful Juvenile & Jackboy, etc...
