Antonio Camargo Carrasco (01/061926, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico - 05/08/2020, Mérida, México), better known as Tony Camargo, is a Mexican singer considered one of the icons of typical music. His parents were Manuel Camargo and Guadalupe Carrasco, who were also singers by profession. Tony Camargo has been compared to Beny Moré, "El Bárbaro del Ritmo", with whom he shared orchestra, stages and recordings (as in the case of the boleros Esta Noche Corazón and Sin Razón Ni Justicia, where Camargo plays the first or main voice) ; unlike Moré, who has been greatly honored, the Mexican has been relegated to indifference. Its beginnings were in 1942 and include radio, television, cinema, theaters, scenarios of various kinds, national tours and hundreds of recordings, alongside Agustín Lara, María Victoria, Los Diamantes, Los Ases, Los Hermanos Martínez Gil, José Alfredo Jiménez, the orchestras of Dámaso Pérez Prado, Luis Carlos Meyer the introducer of the Colombian cumbia in Mexico, and Pablo Beltrán Ruiz, composer of "¿Quién Será La Me Quiere A Mi??" Camargo recorded in Mexico "El Año Viejo", composed by the Colombian Crescencio Salcedo, who heard in Caracas, Venezuela, and which is part of his first long play dating from 1953.
