Real El Canario

Real El Canario, is a Multi-disciplinary Artist, Internationally known for his dynamic style on the turntables, eclectic selections & slamming productions. Born in Tenerife (Canary Islands) in 1974, started buying records since ’84 and took it to the turntables in ‘88, later in ’91 started Professionally. Quickly became the island’s most wanted DJ blowing up his local residencies & parties all thru the 90s. Aa Hip Hop DJ by heart, therefore, he has no limitations on playing different musical genres. REC moved to Amsterdam in 2000 where He blew up in no time! headlining at every single stage in the country for more than a decade. With his signature Eclectic Style & fast technique REC he re-invented the scene to the point where he inspired a whole new generation of DJs to broader their musical selections & techniques. in 2009, Real recorded what became a cult classic in the underground Latino Hip Hop Scene, his debut album “ Llegaron los olvidados” was a very original production, with hits such as El Boogaloo, or El Barrio Real showed his production skills and his distinctive sound was really ahead of time. After almost 4 sabbatical years, Real came back to light with his "15 Minutes of Funk Online Video Series" and the man took the internet like a storm!, The videos showcase Real sharing his impressive record collection, technique & music knowledge 15 Minutes at a time and are Hitting sometimes more than a million views in less than a month and creating a huge buzz worldwide. His music releases have been very broad, he has moved all around in many different styles from Hip Hop to House in very diverse ways but always keeping the Funk present. His biggest hit to date it’s "International Style” released in 2011 on his own imprint Beat Dis, a record licensed in over 15 countries. On his latest release “Island Boogie” El Canario clearly shows his direction for future releases within a very distinctive Funk & Boogie Sound.
