Sylvia Mars

Blues singer, born c. 1933 in Abbeville, South Carolina. She moved to Boston in the late 1940s, active in the Boston Folksong Society during the 1950s, worked with Lionel Hampton at the Storyville Club in Boston in the early 1960s. Recorded for the Folk-Lyric label in c. 1962, "whereabouts unknown thereafter" (Sheldon Harris, Blues Who's Who (1979), p. 348)
