Clara Belle Baker

American educator, children's author and songwriter. Born February 6, 1885 in Normal, Illinois. Died May 5, 1961 (age of 76) in Riverside, California. She was an early advocate of having children learn by doing. She wrote children's books but also school readers and text books. She wrote children's songs for Alice Green (2) and Anna Howard (2) and often worked with arranger Caroline Kohlsaat.
