Radio Host, music folklorist, journalist, music collector, researcher and musical producer among others. He was born in Medellín (Colombia) in 1927, died in the same city in 1991. From an early age he showed inclinations for music and radio, when while still very young he dedicated himself to capturing shortwave radio from neighboring countries. While working as a mechanic in a neighborhood in Bello, he developed a taste for bullfighting and journalism, hobbies that he combined when he began writing bullfighting chronicles for newspapers such as El Gitanillo, El Diario and El Colombiano. In 1952 he obtained a space in La Voz de Antioquia as the host of a radio program known as "Radio - Lente", in which he presented reviews of shows and music. This program was on the air for 23 years. From 1953 he worked as a publicist and artistic director of the record company Sonolux until 1975 when he launched his own record company called Preludio, with which he promoted different national artists. He wrote some books on music, among them: “Sing me a bambuco”, “What the bambucos tell” and “What the boleros tell”. He was internationally recognized as an authority on bolero, Colombian Andean music, and American popular music. He was also considered one of the most important connoisseur of tango in Colombia.
