Rosie McGee

Professional photographer, born as Florence Nathan in Paris (France), she moved with her parents to San Francisco (USA) at age 5. After meeting The Grateful Dead in late 1965, she was Phil Lesh's girlfriend until 1969. Afterwards she remained a close associate of the Dead, working for them in various capacities such as photographer, tour manager, and office manager of Alembic Studios. Around 1971 she took on the name Rosie McGee, in reference to the Dead's flower logo and the song "Me And My Bobby McGee".
